The Super Kamiokande

Stumbled across this amazing sight today. It's the Super-Kamiokande. Construction on this scale is always amazing and beautiful, think CERN Hadron Collider, etc. In (very) basic terms it's a container, 1000m underground holding 50,000 tons of ultra pure water. A charged particle is created moving faster than the speed of light (because it's in the water) the detectors placed around the container then measure the result. //Link
